How to install SCSI driver under Windows 98?
Solution:
Following instruction is for upgrading SCSI driver after Win98 installation is finished. If you wish to upgrade the driver, please use the following steps. 1. Prepare the new driver disc and Windows 98 CD-ROM disc in hand. 2. Double click on "My Computer\Control Panel\System" icon. Select "SCSI COntroller" in "Device Manager" page. 3. Double click on current SCSI controller item and property windows of controller will be shown on screen. 4. Select "Driver" page and click "Update Driver..." button, "Update Device Driver Wizard" will show on screen. Click "Next >" to continue. 5. If you don't wish Windows 98 searching the device automatically, select the second item ("Display a list of all the drivers ...") and press "Next >". 6. Click "Have Disk..." and enter the correct path of new driver. If you are not sure about the path, please press "Browse" to find it. Click "OK" to close "Install From Disk" window and continue the installation. 7. Supported devices will be listed in "Models" window, select the correct model name to continue. The model name should looks like "Symbios Logic 8951U PCI SCSI Adapter". 8. Press "Next >" twice to continue the installation. 9. Press "Finish" button and restart your computer so Windows 98 will load the new driver.
