---|---|---|---|
Solution:
According to the tech specification of LSI Symbios 53C895, each SCSI ID supports up to 8 LUN(Logical Unit Number). And with SCSI command, these 8 devices can be accessed on the same SCSI ID. If this item is enabled, Symbios SCSI utility will scan all device under each SCSI ID, and show the associated messages on screen.
An example of this concept is RAID system. The following shows you how it is applied to RAID system. There are three hard disks on RAID500 and are configured as RAID5. Now, it is divided into three partitions and mapped to Host channel(Created by PCA-6168) with different LUNs(0,1,2).
Status: Enable "Scan for SCSI LUNS". The message will be displayed by Symbios utility of PCA-6168
