What's difference between Logical drive partition and OS partition? | |||
---|---|---|---|
Solution:
The "Logical drive partition" can be used to create virtual Hard disk, while OS can partition it further. After creating logical drives, it can be divided into 8 partitions in maximum, and map them to different LUNs under various SCSI
ID. On host side, there will be 8 physical hard disks available. These physical hard disks can be partitioned by operating system to suit different application environment. So, in brief, the logical drive partition is equal to a physical drive, and the OS partition is done on physical drive (LD partition). That is logical dirve!
The following file shows you how a RAID5 logical drive with three partitions is displayed under disk management of Windows NT4.0.
(DISK1,DISK2, and DISK3)
