Can I share RAID 500 to four host computer with RAID 5? | |||
---|---|---|---|
Solution:
1. You have to order RAID-500U2-8 or RAID-500U2-R8 (Redundant controller) for supporting 8 SCSI channels.
2. Configure SCSI channel 0~3 as host channels.
3. Connect 8 hard disks to channel 4 and channel 5. (One SCSI channel is for four hard disks)
4. Use 8 hard disks to create a RAID 5 logical drive.
5. Slice this logical drive to four partitions.
6. Map these partitions to different host computer running various operating systems.
Note: This is a multiple hosts application not redundant host.
