Solution:
To test ADAM-4525 with loop-back, you need a ADAM-4525 and a PCL-841 card. Please follow the steps below, we believe you can connect the ADAM-4525 successfully.
1, Power off the ADAM-4525, connect the Init* pin to the GND. Then connect the ADAM-4525 to your PC's RS232 port. Power on the ADAM-4525.
2, Run ADAM-4525 utility, execute [Initial] on the menu bar first, then you can read ADAM-4525's baud rate setting from : [Config] => [Remote Initial]
3, Check if the baud rate of your RS-232 port and CAN port are match to the ADAM-4525. The [Remote Initial] is for ADAM-4525 settings and [Initial] is for local system including COM port and CAN card, the keypoint is to let all baudrates be the same, but we need to set them under ADAM-4525 utility.
4, Set the configuration of your RS-232 and CAN port in the item 'Initial'. If you have both RS-232 port and CAN port in one PC, you can chose 'loop-back'. If the CAN port is on the other PC, please chose 'transfer'.
5, Power off the ADAM-4525 and un-connect the Init* pin with GND. Then power on.
6, Connect the CAN port of ADAM-4525 to the PCL-841 card.
7, Chose R/T to start data transfer. Please notice that you need to press 'start' and the port can receive data.
