How to install Adaptec 7800 family SCSI driver under OS/2 | |||

Solution:
Compatibility Information : OS/2 Warp ( All versions including Warp Connect , Warp server , and Warp V4 )
Installation procedure : 1 . Type CDINST from cdrom drive to create two boot Diskettes.
2 . Remove the following files from Disk 1 .
aha152x.add
aha154x.add
aha164x.add
aha174x.add
aic7770.add
3 . If you are installing ultra 2 scsi host adapter , delete the aic7870.add as well .
4 . Copy the new driver from Adaptec 7800 family Manager Set diskette for OS/2 onto OS/2 Disk 1 .
5 . Edit config.sys (In Disk 1 ) and remark out the basedev statements for all of the above deleted drivers . Ex : Rem basedev = aha152x.add
6. Add a new Basedev statement in config.sys
basedev = aic78u2.add
7. Make sure the following statement in config.sys is present
Set saveconnect = 1
8 . At the end of installation , aic78u2.add gets copied to the root partition of the boot drive , and the config.sys will have a corresponding Basedev statement .
