Solution:
This kinds of problem are caused by the old version firmware (CQ 24). After
updating the firmware version to CQ 26, the problems should be fixed.
As to identify the CD-ROM firmware, there is a label written "F: CQ xx at
the lower right corner of CD-ROM back side. Please refer the attached photo
for details.
Flash procedures:
a. Make sure the CD-ROM is connected to secondary master or slave IDE channel.
b. Insert a bootable floppy disk to boot the system to DOS mode.
c. Type the following command to flash the old version firmware to new one.
F1198q 3 w CQxx.hex
d. After flashing the firmware, please reboot the system again.
Remarks:
1. For more information, just type "f1198q" under the DOS
prompt.
2. Flash utility named F1198q.
3. CQ26 is the latest firmware.
4. Do not put any CD in the CD-ROM while the firmware is
being flashed.
