---|---|---|---|
Solution:
Before installing PCIA-71 under DOS environment, please make sure your PCMCIA controller chip is either INTEL 82365SL or DATABOOK TCIC-2/N. If not, you need to use CARDSOFT or CARDMASTER to initialize your PCMCIA device first.
Step1: Execute "Install.exe" which is located at utility disk of PCIA-71 and select proper controller chip, PCMCIA slot, I/O address and IRQ to complete PCIA-71 setup.
Step2: The install program will add the following line to your config.sys, please check it:
DEVICE=C:\SETUP71.EXE /Sx /Ay /Qz
Step3: Reboot your system and check the installation is ok or not.
Step4: If you meet "Card present in socket 1" and "Error: Card can not be initialized", you'd better check ID for PCIA-71 as follows:
(1) Add below lines in CONFIG.SYS and use CARDSOFT to initialize your PCMCIA:
[PCIA-71]
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS X=d000-dfff
REM CardSoft(TM) 3.1 PCMCIA DRIVERS
DEVICEHIGH=C:\CARDSOFT\SS365SL.EXE
DEVICEHIGH=C:\CARDSOFT\CS.EXE
DEVICEHIGH=C:\CARDSOFT\CSALLOC.EXE
(2) After rebooting, you can try to use "cardinfo.exe" to check ID of PCIA-71. The ID should be "ADVANTECH-PCIA-71A/B/C". If your ID is wrong, please use "PCIA71.EXE" to change it, this tool comes with PCIA-71 DOS Utility/Library which is available on our website.
