How to turn off backlight via power management function ?
Solution:
The default VGA BIOS has supported power management function. In hardware design of PPC-120/140, it also supports turning off backlight function. So, to achieve it, you can do by software settings. The procedure for turning off backlight are listed as below. (Note: The default BIOS and hardware have supported this function) A. DOS environment 1. Enter BIOS setup main menu by press when booting. 2. Select "Power Management setup" option in main menu. 3. Set " Power Management" item as "User Define" to turn on power management function. 4. Set "Video off option" item as "Susp, Stby-->Off". 5. In PM Timers field, set time intervals for Doze Mode, Standby Mode, and Suspend Mode, regarding to your application. 6. Save parameters and restart your computer. B. Windows 95 1. Double-click "Display" icon. A "Display Properties" windows appears. 2. Select "settings" item, and then press "Advanced Properties" button. 3. Select 'Monitor" item. In options field, enable Monitor is Energy compliant item. 4. Click "Screen Saver" folder. In Energy saving feature of monitor field, set the values for the times of turning off backlight. 5. Press OK button to take effect settings.
