Incompatability with HD other than the Seagate units | |||
---|---|---|---|
Solution:
Customer that has used PCA-6157L with Seagate discs in the past and has been
advised of an incompatability with 4 models of Seagate IDE disc. They are today
using another PCA-6159 with a Fujitsu 1.7GB disc and are having problems
installing the QNX operating system (It reports "Unable to write to disc"). The
card has recognise the Heads/Cyls/Sectors of the Fujitsu disc correctly. (It
may be a QNX problem)
(1) Can you pls confirm that as far as you are aware there is no
incompatability with discs other than the Seagate units
(2) Can you maybe advise what the Seagate incomptability means (ie: it total
lack of communications, intermmittent errors or what?)

(2)This problem is caused by the hard driver controller on Seagate hard drives.
Seagate admite this problem and they will change the controller on new version.
So far, there is no way to improve the compatibility between Seagate HDD and TX
chipset. Please change your hard drive with others to solve this problem.
