Solution:
Advantech has tried our best to find a solution to solve Y2K problem from the BIOS. However, we just cannot get the source code of the BIOS from vender to do further effort.
This product has being phased out several years ago, which are not made Year 2000 compliant. For Not Y2K Compliant products, Advantech suggests below solutions to help you pass this problem :
1. Upgrade or replace your system to a Y2K compliance.
2. You may try to use Unicore Software Inc. product "Millennium/Pro BIOS upgrade card" to prevent year 2000 impact. when your system allow you to install an extra ISA/EISA card. You can refer to web site www.unicore.com for more detail product information. (There are also other vendors, e.g. Micro Firmware Inc. The MFI FLASH 2000. www.firmware.com/sales/year2000/index.htm)
3. Install TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) driver, if you can add this TSR into "first line" on "Autoexec.bat" file.
3.1 Use RighTime Company YEAR2000.EXE program, you can refer to web site www.RighTime.com for more information.
3.2 Use Advantech's TSR program. This TSR program has been tested with the similar capability as 2000.EXE and TEST2000.EXE utilities on Advantech products only.
4. If you are using non-microsoft operating system, then please follow the procedures of above Advantech's TSR program to get date and time run correctly in your application.
