Solution:
The ADAM-4510 is designed to function as extending the communication signal of RS-422 or RS-485. It cannot be used as a RS-422/485 converter. Mainly cause is the RTS control signal.
As you know, the RTS signal for RS-422 is always ON, but the RS-485 need to control the RTS signal for switching to as a receiver or a driver. Besides, the RS-422 use 4-wire to transmit/receive data which called full-duplex, but RS-485 just need 2-wire call half-duplex.
In another word, when you try to use the ADAM-4510 as a RS-422/RS-485 converter, you just can receive or transmit data at the RS-485 end. It is recommended that you can select other product for your application.
