How to full fill the LCD screen under Windows 95 | |||
---|---|---|---|
Solution:
Due to the characteristic of LCD, display may not full fill the screen if you
just set the display resolution lower than LCD's resolution. For example, if
you set the display resolution to 800x600 on PPC-140, the LCD will be filled
partially. If you wish to fill the whole screen, you can change it in driver as
following.
1.Download the 2.4.5 or later driver from C&T's web site (www.chips.com).
2.Install the driver as you would any other CHIPS Win95 display driver.
3.In your Windows system directory, there is a file called chipsdsp.dat. Open
the chipsdsp.dat with your favorite ASCII text editor.
4.Look for a line that contains ";HideStretchScreen=0" in chipsdsp.dat. Notice
that there is a semicolon in the beginning of the line, disabling the stretch
feature.
5.Remove the semicolon and save the file.
6.In the CHIPS tab of the display properties sheet, there will be a new check
box labeled "Stretch Screen". Enabling stretch will cause the Windows desktop
to fill the LCD screen. Please note, that the quality of the video screen will
be low because of the pixel stretching required.
