Technical note for changing PPC-100Ts LPT1 address from 278h to 378h. | |||
---|---|---|---|
Solution:
The change of PPC-100Ts LPT1 from address 278 to 378 requires the modification on hardware UM8003 chipset pin 92. The below show how to make this change :
LPT1 address UM8003 pin 92
278h Pull-low
378h Pull-high
PCM-4865 Rev.A1, the UM8003 pin 92 and 93 connect R141 to pull-low together. To change the address 378, it needs to disconnect pin-92 & 93 by de-solder on UM8003, then use an external resistor 4.7K connect between Vcc (pin 91) and pin 92.
PCM-4865 Rev.A2, the UM8003 pin 92 and 93 has been separated, the pin 92 is connected to R239 to GND. just disconnect the R239 from GND to Vcc (F14 +). The modification is not very easy in operation. But our hardware has fixed this design. There is no way to make this change through software (BIOS). Please tell to the customer. After this change, the user needs the other softwares for the testing.
