How to install a DOC-2000 on PCM-4862 | |||

Solution:
(1) Firstly, the PCM-4862 BIOS which can support DOC-2000 is of version 2.25 or
above.
(2) The following steps is the procedure of installing a DOC-2000 on PCM-4862:
1. Turn off the power.
2. Put the DOC-2000 in the ROM 0 socket(the first socket for ROM chips).
3. Set J29 to enable SSD function (see page 31 in the manual).
4. Set J30, J31 to select SSD device type.Either 512K Flash or 128Kx3 Flash
type is OK. (see page 31 in the manual)
5. Set the 9,10,11,12 of J27 to setup the emulated drive you. ( If you don't
have a harddisk, no matter how you set this jumper, the system always treats
the DOC as drive C.)
6. Set the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 of J27 to choose the right I/O address and SSD's
memory address(memory window segment).(see page 29,30 in the manual)
7. Turn on the power and go into the CMOS BIOS to active SSD. The sequence is:
CMOS Setup -> CHIPSET FEATURES SETUP -> Internal Flash/ROM Disk -> Set it to
"Enable"
8. During booting up, you should see some message as following. If not, please
check the above step.
"DOC Socket Services-Version 0.2
(C) Copyright 1992-1996, M-system Ltd,......"
9. For more information about DOC-2000 command, please refer to the document
files included in the utility disk.
