---|---|---|---|
Solution:
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
The PCI card configuration setting inside an on board EEPROM 93LC46 will cause PCI resource conflict when working with 'Phoenix' BIOS.
Problem analysis:
The configuration setting in 93LC46, U2 of PCI-1750 and U26 of PCI-1713, shipped before 1999/6/23 has an error with it. When the PCI-1750 or PCI-1713 is plugged in a PC with Phoenix BIOS, that will cause resource conflict in system and the cards can not work.
The error message when booting are as follow:
ERROR
Resource conflict - PCI
Bus:00, Device:10, Function:00
SOLUTION
Since most of the users will not have this problem. And it needs some special tools to modify the 93LC46. We will suggest our distributor follow the DOA procedure to return the card to factory if user have to use these cards with Phoenix BIOS. This problem had been modified and all the stock had been re-worked. The cards that are shipped after 1999/6/23 do not have this problem.
UPGRADE POLICY
All cards in stock have been re-worked before 1999/6/23.
