How to install PCL-740/741/743B/745B/746+ under Windows 95?
Solution:
These RS-232/422/485 serial port cards do not need special drivers under Windows 95. Simply add these cards to the system COM ports. The procedures are: 1. Open [Control Panel] then select [Add new hardware]. 2. Press [Next] and choose [N] to skip auto search new hardware. 3. Press [Next] and choose [Connection Ports(COM & LPT)] hardware type. 4. Press [Next] and select [Standard Connection Port Type] for manufacturer and [Communication Connection Port] for model. 5. Press [Next] and the default IRQ and I/O address will be shown. Click [Done]. Up to this point you have added a port to the system. Repeat steps 1 to 5 to add as many ports you want (max. port number 128). 6. Open [Control Panel] then select [System] and [Device Manager]. 7. Select the newly added [Communication port(COM?)], then select [Resource]. 8. Select the ??? or basic configuration to [Basic configuration 8]. 9. Double click on IRQ and type in the IRQ of the serial card's actual setting, then [OK]. 10. Double click on I/O range and type in the I/O address actual setting, then [OK]. Repeat steps 6 to 10 to set up each port correctly. 11. Click [OK]. 12 . Restart Windows 95
