Why the ADAM-4016 Strain Gauge only can work with excite voltage 5V? | |||
---|---|---|---|
Solution:
ADAM-4016 + Strain Gauge + excite voltage 5V ==> Ok
ADAM-4016 + Strain Gauge + excite voltage 10V ==> Fail
This problem may be caused by common mode voltage. We adopt +/- 5V OP in ADAM-4016, so you can't input over 5 voltage to Vin+ or Vin- of ADAM-4016. That can explain why it works well with 5 voltage EXC, not for 10 voltage EXC.
Let us put that with a different way, you can measure the absolute voltage of Vin from your strain gauge (between Vin+ ( Vin- ) and EXC-, please refer to the attached diagram) first, if it is over 5V which is the limitation of OP, please try to adjust your resistors of strain gauge to let the voltage less than 5V.
