Solution:
Yes, user may configure both the Tx and Rx on one port to operate in the same mode, or configure each Tx and Rx on one port to operate in different modes. Please notice that whatever mode you select, you must ensure that this is not the same mode as the device that your PCL-741 is connected to. You also can find above information on page 13 of User's Manual.
