Solution:

1. To use compact flash please enable the "secondary IDE" from " standard CMOS setup" in CMOS setting. Usually set it as "Auto" is recommanded. 2. Double check the second IDE device is enable in item " Integrated peripheral" in CMOS setting. 3. Use a boot disk to boot up your system and format the compact flash. 4. The compact flash just acts as a normal HDD. It does not need any driver for different operating system.
