Installation Notes of ATI Rage 128 pro 4XL VGA driver for Linux RED HAT 6.2 & 7.0
Solution:
Suitable models: *PCA-6179V/VE/F *RS-100/200VF sever Detail ===== Because Red Hat Linux 6.2 cannot automatically recognize the onboard VGA chip --- ATI Rage 128 pro 4XL in our RS-100/200-VF server or PCA-6179 CPU board, users have to install OS in TEXT mode first then install the proper driver for this chip and modify some settings in system. After that, you can use X-window in this computer system. The attached file is based on ATI Rage 128 pro 4XL (AGP 4x) VGA chip and RED HAT Linux 6.2 and 7.0. For FreeBSD, Openlinux or other Unix-like OSs, you can use most of these steps to install drivers for this system combination. === Warning === If you modify "Xf86Config" settings under Red Hat 7.0, Xwindow configuration won't take effect. Please do the modification in "Xf86Config-4" file. For more detail, please refer to the attached file .
