Description: Customers using ADAM-6520 in their network applications using IP broadcast ( 255.255.255.255 ) as one of the communication mechanisms sometimes found broadcast performance was weak. This is because ADAM-6520 has enabled the broadcast storm protection, which is a mechanism to ensure the networking performance will not be harmed by an objectless broadcast. Solution: The specification of the broadcast storm protection for ADAM-6520 is 1%. That means ADAM-6520 will limit the flow rate of the broadcast as 1% of the maximum flow rate. Customer can evaluate if this limit will affect the performance of his application. If the broadcast flow rate is under the limitation, this application is ok to use ADAM-6520. Or, we will suggest customer to use EDG-6528, which do not have broadcast storm protection.
