Selecting the Proper Power to Fit ADAM-5000 Modules | |||
---|---|---|---|
Solution:
Description:
I have an adam-5000/TCP and several ADAM-5k I/O modules, How can I find a proper power modules for these devices?
Solution:
To choose a proper power supply, customer needs to know how to calculate how much power consumption for whole ADAM-5000 modules. The way calculating total power consumption is to add all ADAM-5000 I/O modules power consumption plus the power consumption which back plan using.
For example, an ADAM-5000 E/TPC with 1 Adam-5024 and 1 Adam-5017, the total power consumption will be 2.5W (adam-5000E/TCP) + 2.9W (adam-5024) + 1.25W (adam-5017) = 6.65 W. Therefore the basic requirement for a power supply will need 6.65 Walt at lease.
However, when initiating modules, it will require high power input, it will be better to provide 2 or 3 times of basic power requirement. In this case, it is recommended choosing 20 Walt power supply model.
