Solution:
The ADAM-4541 is no problem with the HF noise. BUT, please take care of the RS-232/422/485 side. As you know the Fiber Optic cable can reject variety kind of noise, but the cable between ADAM-4541 and your communication device is the way that the noise can enter our system. Please make sure to use the "double shield" cable, and ground "one end" of the shield to your communication device. For example, if you use the RS-422 or RS-485 interface, you had better use the "24 AWG 2464 Twist Pair cable".

Can I use ADAM-4541 together with ADAM-4542? | |||

No, you can't use them together, mainly because the WAVELENGTH is different.

How to connect three or more devices with fiber optics of ADAM-4541? | |||

Solution:
When using ADAM-4541, it is recommended to use them as a pair. If you want to connect three devices with fiber optics, you can use one pair of ADAM-4541 to connect device1 and 2, then another pair to connect device 2 and 3.

How to control RTS through ADAM-4541? | |||

Solution:
Actually, there is no way to control RTS via ADAM-4541 because we don't provide RTS or CTS pin on ADAM-4541 to let you connect to your PC or device. From the shell of ADAM-4541, you can see we just support Tx, Rx and GND. If your device needs RTS and CTS signals to handshake, you can try to connect RTS and CTS together to deceive your device, maybe it can solve your problem.

How to install ADAM-4541? | |||

Solution:
The detailed procedures about the installation of ADAM-4541 are shown as follows:
1. Connection structure:
Host PC <==232==> ADAM-4541 #1 <==Fiber==> ADAM-4541 #2 <==485==> ADAM I/O modules
2. ST connector & Fiber cable (OPT-ST-05)
You should pay your attention to the small extrusion of OPT-ST-05 connector, besides, there is a gap in ADAM-4541 ST connector. These two must be combined together to complete the connection.
3. DIP switch setting:
For RS-232/422 connection => set DIP 9 to "on" and don't need to set baudrate because of full duplex.
For RS-485 connection => set proper baudrate by DIP switch to fit your application.
Just like the above case, set DIP 9 to "on" for ADAM-4541 #1, DIP 4 to "on" (ex: 9600 bps) for ADAM-4541 #2.
Note: Please make sure the data format setting of ADAM-4541 (SW1) is correct for your application. Besides, the baudrate of Host's COM Port (RS-232 end) must be the same with ADAM I/O nodule's (RS-485 end).
4. ADAM.EXE
Use ADAM utility to check the communication is ok.

Is ADAM-4541 possible to use the 50/125 fiber optics? | |||

Solution:
Transmission distance is the main difference that will be caused by using different types of fiber optics type. The 2.5Km transmission distance of ADAM-4541 is measured with 62.5/125 um cable. However, if user want to use 50/125 um fiber, the transmission distance will be about 1.2 Km.
