Solution:
In peer to peer mode the Xtreme I/O units will not be able to pass a continous signal frequency. If it is used in MODBUS Mode then the signal can be passed into the counter or frequency input and then the value can be read by Modbus. When in Modbus Mode and using a counter it can accept 20 Khz pulse frequency
