Using the 485DSS with Current Loop converter | |||
---|---|---|---|
Solution:
485DSS and Current loop converter
When the 485DSS is connected to the RS-232 side of the 232PCLR then it does not switch.
If there is nothing connected on the current loop side of the232PCLR, and it is plugged into the RS-232 side of the 485DSS, then it will assert the TD LED on th e485 DSS.
This will prevent communication on the RS-485 side, if it is set for 2 wire.
If I set the 485DSS to 2 wire, and wire the current loop converter for a loop back, and connect only RD, and Gnd between the 485DSS and the 232PCLR, then it switches fine.
