Solution:
Category: AutoTap Model numbers Tech note applies to: Autotap Brief Description: No vehicle has been detected/The vehicle was not found Solution/Troubleshooting: 1 Ensure the AutoTap hardware is connected to the vehicle port. 2 Ensure the red LED on the hardware unit is lit when plugged into the vehicle connector. The unit gets power from the vehicle connector, and must be powered from the vehicle. No LED most likely indicates a blown fuse on the vehicle. This is usually the same fuse that supports the cigarette lighter circuit. 3 Ensure the vehicle key is in the “ON” or “RUN” position. 4 Ensure the vehicle is OBDII compliant. Most vehicles will have an emission compliance sticker either under the hood or on the drivers door pillar. This sticker needs to state “OBDII Compliant” for the AutoTap to operate. 5 Ensure the proper hardware and software is being used to access the vehicle. Our model ATUEXP will work with all 1996 and newer OBDII compliant vehicles, but many of our earlier versions of AutoTap hardware and software may not. 6 Make sure customer is connecting the AutoTap module directly to the vehicle, and not using the OBDIIMF cable between the AutoTap and the vehicle. The OBDIIMF cable is for use with ’96-’02 Chrysler vehicles only to access the enhanced parameters. 7 Ensure that the operating system is set to English or Spanish for the Express DIY software, and all versions of Diagnostic and Reader software require English only setting.
