What cable impedance is good to use with the Ethernet Extenders | |||
---|---|---|---|
Solution:
EIR-EXTEND Customer is having an issue with the Ethernet Extenders, running 1000 feet. When running 1000 feet with his Belden 87778 cable he gets 10 Mbps data rate. When using a Cat 5 cable he gets 50Mbps over 1000 feet. Answere: The reason the customer is having issues connecting satisfactorily with the Ethernet Extenders using Belden 87778 cable is do to impedance mismatch. The Belden 87778 cable has 50 Ohms impedance, and our Ethernet Extender Connection has 100 Ohms. This Impedance Mismatch will cause VDSL signal Degradation, which is why Cat5 cable worked so well, because it has 100 Ohm Impedance as well.
