Solution:
transfer 8 bits over the air by default. This operating mode supports a number of data formats at the default setting, which is not configurable with the Basic Modem Settings. The Modems support Total of 8 bits: 7 data bits, Even parity & 1 stop bit (7-E-1)7-O-17-M-17-S-18-N-1 Also, they can generate parity bits on the receiver as they shift the data out of the serial port. This allows support for additional formats 8-E-1, 8-O-1, 8-M-1 and 8-S-1.The setting of 8-M-1 is equivalent to a setting of 8-N-2 if two stop bits are required. Alternate data formats must be set by connecting Modem with HyperTerminal, and sending AT Commands to set the NB Parameter: NB settings Supported Data formats* 0** = 8N1, 7E1, 7O1, 7M1, 7S11 =8E12 =8O13 = 8M1, 8N24 =8S1*Data format - DPS:Data bits, Parity, Stop bits; Parity - E:Even, M:Mark, N:None, O:Odd, S:Space**Default Advanced programming and AT Modem commands can be found in the User Manual.
