Difference between your Cisco compatible SFP's and your standard SFP's? | |||
---|---|---|---|
Solution:
Our Cisco compatible SFPs contain the Cisco required information in the EEPROM file of the SFP. Our non-Cisco compatible SFPs do not contain this information in the EEPROM of the SFP. The Cisco switch that is being used is really the determining factor as to whether or not the customer will need to purchase Cisco compatible SFPs. The higher end Cisco switches usually require the SFP port to be Cisco compatible.
