Can I extend the distance of my existing antenna or add a high gain antenna to my APXG/ABDN unit? | |||

Solution:
To extend the distance for the existing antenna you would need a cable with a RPSMA to RPSMA plug. Here is a link to the cables, in the Description column you need the cable that indicates RPSMA on both ends. (One side on all our cables has a built in Jack Bulkhead for mounting) Cables vary: Cable type LMR100 or LMR195 Length -- 6 inches to 2 feet With or with O-ring (O ring provides a seal) Right angle or straight http://www.bb-elec.com/Products/Wireless-Cellular/Wireless-Accessories/Wireless-Antenna-Cables.aspx HIGH GAIN ANTENNA B&B does not have high gain antennas for the Airborne units, they must be purchases elsewhere. You need to get a dual band 2.4GHz/5GHz antenna. Our unit is limited to 3.8dBi for the 2.4GHz and 5.5dBi for 5GHz. These values are determined by the FCC testing in order to pass intentional radiator testing. Below are just a couple suggested antennas that can be purchased through Digi-Key Laird--part number CAF 94505 http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/CAF94505/994-1009-ND/2392188 Taoglas--Part number WS.01.B.305151 http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?KeyWords=WS.01.B.305151&WT.z_header=search_go
