Xtratags on the Fiber, EtherType for the outer tag being 88a8 (Example) All frames incoming on DATA port should have a tag added with VLAN ID 427 (Example) Example is for CLI, either serial or Telnet. Hit space bar to get into external commands. Type vlan To bring up VLAN configuration screen Hit space bar until the description part, middle of screen, shows OPERATION Mode 2 Hit return key to put device in Mode 2 Hit down-arrow to get to management configuration screen Select desired management traffic mode, either untagged or tagged with specific ID Set “Accept Tagged Frames” to yes Hit down-arrow to get to vlan configuration screen Select Optics port to be a Trunk Select DATA port to be Access For Optics port enter EtherType (88a8 in example) and press return For DATA port enter VLAN ID of tag to add (427 in example) Also enter priority for frames being added Exit while saving, by pressing F3 or S Say yes to save changes Product is now configured to add a tag with EtherType 88a8 and VLAN ID 427 to any frame entering the DATA port, and exit’ing the Optics In the other direction, tag will be removed (but only if it has the proper EtherType and VLAN ID) and sent out the DATA port.
